Founded in 2014 through a collaborative spark between the University of Texas at San Antonio student chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), the Engineering Barbecue Cook-Off has grown into a flagship, multidisciplinary fundraiser that unites the entire UTSA engineering community. This annual event brings together students from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Engineers Without Borders (EWB), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). It's more than a cook-off—it's a celebration of engineering culture, community, and collaboration. Our mission is to foster a vibrant and inclusive environment where engineering students—from all disciplines and backgrounds— can connect with industry professionals, explore career opportunities, and celebrate their shared passion for engineering.
