Description
How can San Antonio grow while protecting its land and communities? This exhibition by faculty and students at UT San Antonio’s School of Architecture + Planning explores how multifamily infill housing along VIA Metropolitan Transit’s proposed Advanced Rapid Transit (ART) corridors could meet the city’s 25-year housing need without paving new land or displacing existing residents. Using maps, data visualizations, and housing design prototypes, it reimagines aging commercial corridors as vibrant, connected neighborhoods. Funding provided by the SOM Foundation’s 2023 Research Prize. We also gratefully acknowledge support from the City of San Antonio and the San Antonio Area Foundation. #Infill Housing #Retrofitting Suburbia #UrbanDesign #HousingEquity
