Julia Murphy is a sustainability educator and strategist with a passion for advancing natural resource regeneration and community resilience through policy, design, and engagement. As a Lecturer at the University of Texas at San Antonio’s School of Architecture + Planning, she integrates real-world experience into higher education, inspiring future leaders in responsible sustainable development.
Previously, Julia served as San Antonio’s first Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer, where she led transformative initiatives in climate policy, energy efficiency, nature-based solutions, and the circular economy. Her experience spans government, nonprofit, and corporate sectors, with a global perspective shaped by international experience.
Julia is LEED ND Accredited Professional and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. She has served on many conservation-related boards, including the Texas Land Trust Council and Arboretum SA.
