Students at Klesse College may already be familiar with the Tutoring Center, a designated space designed for effective studying and learning, where they can meet with trained tutors, but recently, the beloved space has gone through some massive changes. With these changes comes a big announcement, one that is sure to excite the numerous students who previously used the space as well as many other students who are still looking for the perfect study area. The Student Success Center is excited to unveil the new Tutoring Center, a significantly enhanced space in a new location designed to further elevate the quality of students' learning experiences.
Compared to the previous Tutoring Center, this updated facility is considerably larger and features additional whiteboard stations, providing students with more workspace than ever before. A dedicated group study area has also been established, allowing larger study groups to collaborate effectively and comfortably. For those who prefer a more relaxing atmosphere, softer, cushioned areas are available to ensure comfort during study sessions. Additionally, counter-height benches have been introduced to assist students who may struggle when dealing with visual distractions.
“I really appreciate the multifunctional aspect of the space. It’s perfect for group study, one-on-one sessions with tutors, or quiet solo work. There’s something for everyone,” remarks Jill Ford, Director of Klesse College Student Success.
Located on the first floor of the Applied Engineering and Technology Building (AET) in room 0.212, the new Tutoring Center is now open and ready to support students as they prepare for the second half of the semester and beyond. Tutors will be available from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., providing opportunities for students to meet and discuss their needs. Schedules for tutors with specific focuses on various topics, areas, and courses will be posted on the tutoring page, so be sure to check the calendar if you are seeking assistance on a particular subject or course.
Jill Ford sums it up best: “I am thrilled for students to access this larger and more functional space. It truly offers something for everyone, whether you come in to work with one of our tutors or simply need a quiet place to study between classes.”
