Melissa Platt
Klesse College is excited to welcome Melissa Platt, Manager of Administrative Support Operations to the Dean's Office. Melissa brings over 20 years of experience in higher education, serving as a strategic partner to executive-level leaders. She is known for her collaborative leadership style, and commitment to operational excellence.
Melissa began employment with UTSA in 2014; left for one year of employment at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UT Health) and returned to UT San Antonio, joining the School of Data Science in 2023. Prior to that, she served at two higher ed institutions in Florida.
Melissa has held varies positions over the years, serving as an office manager, trainer and adjunct instructor. Her background and experiences has helped shape her approach to processes and her gentle approach with people.
Speaking of people… If you’re familiar with Gallup-Clifton Strengths, four of Melissa’s top five strengths are within the Relationship Building domain. Simply put, she is a cultivator and champion for people and relationships. She models the “Golden Rule”: Do unto others as one would want done unto oneself.
Melissa has two adult children and is a proud grandmom to a handsome grandson (2 years old) and beautiful granddaughter (3 weeks old). She enjoys spending time with family, cooking and almost anything outdoors (when it’s not hot).

Snacks – white cheddar popcorn, but must be coupled with Skittles.
Movies – Best Man and Something’s Gotta Give.
Hobbies – Anything with family and outdoors (expect bungie jumping).
