Klesse Summer Camp Experience

Meet Carlos Velez, the coordinator of all Klesse Summer Camp Experiences, to hear about what it is like to attend summer camp at UTSA. At our camps, high schoolers can learn about engineering, architecture and so much more!

FTC Robotics Camp

FTC Robotics Camp

Build and program robots with teamwork spirit and competition! This hands-on camp is co-organized with the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team TechnoWizards, a world award-winning FTC robotics team. The camp participants will form a team, design their logo, build their robots, code to control the robot, and compete, following the same rules as the formal FTC competition. We will also have our faculty host lessons, workshops, and lab tours to foster campers' interests in robotics.

Exploring Python Programming in Music and Art Work

The summer camp will start with an exploration of programming and music composing. Campers will write their music pieces with a Python tool and perform them at the end of day 1. The campers will then learn fundamental programming concepts and skills in Python. They will learn how to draw shapes, fill colors in shapes, and combine them with "If-Then" condition and "For" loop to generate their artwork. Their work will be saved and output with the embroidery machine during days 2-4. Day 5 will include a taste of artificial intelligence. Campers will learn the fundamentals of object detection and try various AI packages.
