Who Helped You Get to Today?
As a first-generation college graduate, earning this degree was a goal I knew I had to achieve. In the most challenging moments, I reminded myself why I started, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who helped me along the way—especially Dr. Lin, who recognized my potential and drive; Eric Ortega, whose guidance has been foundational to my career; and Professors Votion and Allo, who pushed me to excel during Senior Design and helped me realize what I’m capable of.

I want to thank all of the people who I have worked with by being involved with the Formula SAE student organization here at UT San Antonio. SAE has provided me with so much experience both professionally and personally, and I couldn't image where I would be without all of the things I learned.
Who Helped You Get to Today?
My journey began in North Africa, Sudan. Coming to the U.S. alone to pursue a better future was one of the biggest steps of my life. I started at San Antonio College, completing ESL and my college prerequisites before joining the U.S. Army Reserves and later transferring to UTSA to continue my education—never imagining how much life would test my strength. Throughout this journey, I experienced incredible growth but also profound hardship. I lost my father and brother during my final year due to the war in Sudan, and continuing my degree through that heartbreak was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But Allah Subhano wa Ta‘ālā carried me with strength and patience, and I am forever grateful to Allah—and to my family, professors, friends, and loved ones whose support carried me through every challenge. Their kindness, encouragement, and compassion made all the difference and helped me reach this milestone.
