The UTSA Makerspace Machine Shop is home to everything needed for fabrication. Training and supervision are required to use all machinery in the Shop. When entering the Machine Shop, safety glasses and closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times. No hanging accessories, loose clothing or hair is allowed.

The UTSA Makerspace 3D Printing Laboratory creates new possibilities for rapid prototyping and manufacturing with the latest and greatest printing technologies.
Our Makerspace provides many opportunities for active learning and creative thinking in the next generation of students. UTSA members can print with us while learning about the process, as well as interact with experienced and passionate staff members.
Our 3D Print Lab offers 2 different types of 3D printing, Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and Stereolithography (SLA). Below you will find a list of all the printers that our lab offers, as well as the materials that we are able to print in.

Materials Offered
The Makerspace offers a large variety of hand tools for UTSA affiliated projects. Items can be checked out for the day and should be returned by 5:00pm that evening. All items must remain in the Makerspace. You must be registered with the Makerspace and have your UTSA ID to check out equipment. Please see the Front Desk Associates for assistance checking out items.
Tools Available
In addition to the hand tools available, the Electronics Fabrication Lab in the Makerspace houses several high-end electronics devices such as virtual benches, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and soldering stations. Some preliminary training may be required. Please see an associate at the Front Desk for more information.
Lockers
The Makerspace offers free locker rentals of various sizes for senior design teams and UTSA affiliated projects. Please see the Makerspace Front Desk to register for a locker in the upcoming semesteR.
