Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and Construction Management (CECM) at UTSA!

CECM is committed to providing a learning environment which encourages discovery and advancement for the betterment of its students and the community.

CECM students in lab

CECM offers both undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare students for future engineering opportunities.  Our programs include a B.S. in Civil Engineering (accredited by the EAC Accreditation Commission of ABET,  http://www.abet.org), an M.S. in Civil Engineering, and two Ph.D. programs in (Environmental Science & Engineering) and (Civil Engineering).  Our program prepares students by providing them civil engineering fundamentals through design and hands-on laboratory courses, as well as providing them opportunities to participate in cutting edge, interdisciplinary research.

The department has innovative engineering research programs in traditional and emerging fields focusing on environmental engineering, transportation, water resources, structures, and geotechnical engineering.  These research programs are federally and state funded and seek to serve the needs of San Antonio, South Texas and the nation.

If you are looking for an exciting and rewarding career then Civil and Environmental Engineering is the right place for you. We extend to you our warmest welcome and hope you will consider joining the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. You can also follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/utsacee/
