Scholarship Details
Students are eligible for $15,000 annual (renewable) scholarship at the University of Texas at San Antonio, if they meet the following criteria:
- Must be a transfer student from Lone Star College.
- Must have a minimum 2.75 GPA, 2.5 GPA to retain scholarship each year.
- Must have completed 24 credit hours of coursework at Lone Star College (excludes dual credit coursework).
- Must be enrolled full-time as determined by the University. Exceptions to full-time enrollment are considered on a case-by-case basis. (12 hours per semester)
- Must be enrolled in the following degree programs:

- Once you are admitted to UTSA, visit the UTSA Scholarship Hub and apply for the Lonestar STEM Scholarship.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, the scholarship will be automatically renewed as long as the following renewal criteria is met: Majoring in an approved STEM major at UT San Antonio with at least a 2.5 GPA to retain the scholarship each year. Must be enrolled full-time as determined by the University exceptions to full-time enrollment are considered on a case-by-case basis.
No. However, some UT San Antonio scholarships awarded through General Scholarship Application require the recipient to show financial need as determined by the annual Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA, regardless of family income. The priority deadline to submit the FAFSA to UT San Antonio is March 15 for new and current UTSA students. Complete the FAFSA online at studentaid.gov once the FAFSA opens.
