Our classrooms and studios are in the heart of San Antonio's iconic Riverwalk in the seventh largest city in the United States. We are the largest architecture school in Texas and the only one to be in such a unique urban context. Our downtown location offers our undergraduate and graduate students as well as our faculty a remarkable opportunity to build a platform for design and research. Our location also positions us as a bridge with our community and the profession. Together we can collectively address the challenges that impact our built environment.
As architects, interior designers, and urban planners, we have the responsibility to transform our cities into more welcoming and beautiful places that can be enjoyed by all. San Antonio's rich history of architecture and vernacular traditions, its layered cultural and environmental landscapes, and its strategic position at the confluence of the United States, Mexico, and the Americas make our city a living laboratory for design and research. Here, students learn not only to design buildings and places, but to understand the histories, communities, and environments that shape them.
With study abroad programs in Urbino, Italy and Mexico City, our students have the opportunity to expand their place-based curriculum beyond San Antonio. Please consider joining us as we create a school with shared values, where architecture, interior design, and urban planning come together across questions of design, urbanism, adaptive reuse, preservation, and the future of our built environment. Here, history and heritage coexist with experimentation and the responsibility to imagine what comes next.
We look forward to your visit and to your joining us soon. Reach out with questions about our programs.
